Portugal has everything you could wish for in a golfing holiday. World famous championship golf courses and a beautiful winter climate make the Algarve and Lisbon coasts a mecca for UK golfers, who flock here to escape the dreary winter weather and rain-soaked golf courses at home in order to enjoy a Portugal golf break in the sun. The Costa de La Luz, although technically a part of Spain, is just across the border and golfers here have easy access to the courses of the eastern Algarve. Golf Holidays in the Algarve
Justly famous for its scenery, Portugal's southern coast, one hundred miles long with beautiful beaches washed by clean Atlantic waters and sheltered by honey-coloured cliffs is rich in sunshine, history and charm. The Algarve has a golf holiday resort to suit the tastes of every golfer. Vilamoura is a big favourite with many, because of the saturation of top class golf courses, excellent hotels and a myriad of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Golf Breaks in Lisbon
With every year that passes, the coastal area surrounding the cosmopolitan and sophisticated city of Lisbon is growing in popularity as a golfing holiday venue, and it's not too hard to figure out why. Lisbon area is studded with a number excellent courses stretching from Obidos in the North with Praia del Rey, West Cliffs and Royal Obidos, passing through the ever popular towns of Cascais and Estoril where you will find some great courses within easy reach of your hotel, Oitavos Dunes and Penha Longa are a must play for any golf trip in this area. Moving South to Sesimbra, more of a beach town with courses such as Troia, Aroeira and Quinta da Peru within 25 minutes.
The big bonus for the holiday golfer, however, is that the courses here are much quieter than those of the Algarve and the Costa del Sol, and just as important, the golf in this area offers great value for money. The climate is slightly cooler than the Algarve during the winter months, but in autumn, spring and early-summer the weather is great for golfing and this area really comes into its own.
Golfing Breaks in the Costa de La Luz
Just over the border in Spain, the golf courses and hotels of the Costa de La Luz are within easy reach of Faro airport, which is why we include this area in our Algarve offering. Golfers staying in this area have a great choice of courses both in Spain and the Eastern Algarve.
