Regarded by many as Harry Colt?s crowning glory, St George?s Hill Golf Club has been one of England?s most revered Clubs since 1913. Situated in the heart of Surrey?s heathland, the Club sits within an exclusive private estate, creating an idyllic ambience and sense of wonderment. The undulating fairways, heather, silver birch and stately Scots pine are ever-present across the three loops of nine, each hole individual, leaving an indelible impression on all who visit.
St George's Hill remains today a golfing gem. Each hole, of which there are three loops of nine, is memorable and individual in character, with heather and stately Scots pine - the fairways are undulating and follow the natural contours of the land. Undoubtedly, Colt was a genius, so recent changes made to a number of the holes have been carried out very much in line with his original design philosophy. We will always strive to ensure that St George?s Hill remains his masterpiece, even with the advances in golfers technology.
Red Course
As you walk from the clubhouse and look to the right you start to see what awaits. The 1st is an inviting hole and is a great introduction to the red nine and St George's Hill in general. The red nine flows well around the natural contours of the estate with a variety of holes ranging from the short par 4 fourth to the hardest hole on the course.
Blue Course
After a well-deserved drink at the halfway hut prepare yourself for the blue nine. The blue nine tends to play harder than the red and from the 13th onwards is a stern test with a 200yd plus par 3, long par 5 and a handful of par 4's all over 400 yards.
Green Course
The green nine is a great challenge in itself, a slightly shorter nine compared to the red and blue, but also a lot tighter, strategic play is required here if a good score is to be had. The Stroke Index on the Green nine is determined by which of the other courses it is played with to make a full 18 hole round.
