Royal Waterloo Golf Club in Brussels Waterloo & Mons
Created by Fred Hawtree sixty years ago, Royal Waterloo is considered by many to be the best golf course in the area. It consists of two 18-hole courses to suit different abilities and even though the course is very private, we still have access for our clients on selected times and days.
La Marache is the original course and the tougher test at Royal Waterloo. The front nine is more open than the back nine with some wonderfully wooded holes. Take care with your approach shots to avoid the deep greenside bunkers. The greens are large, so plan your shots carefully. La Marache has hosted many European Tour events.
Le Lion is not quite as difficult as La Marache however many of the members prefer this course. It has undulating fairways and well-placed bunkers. The front nine winds its way through beech and chestnut groves, many of the back nine holes give a view of the Butte de Lion, the famous hill with the monument that commemorates the Battle of Waterloo.
The courses are always in excellent condition. If you love your golf, try and come for the day and play both courses.
