Phuket Golf Holidays

Halfway between the capitals of Thailand and Malaysia and off the west cost of Thailand, lies the beach and leisure destination of Phuket Island and our Phuket Golf Holidays.

Phuket Island has a long history and remains dating back to A.D. 1025 indicate that the island’s present day name used to mean crystal mountain. Phuket was a way station on the route between India and China. The island appears to have been part of the Shivite empire that established itself on the Malay Peninsula. The Dutch established a trading post during the Ayuthaya Period in the 16th-Century. The island’s northern and central regions then were governed by the Thais, and the southern and western parts were given over to the tin trade, a concession in the hands of foreigners.  Chinese, Malay, Portuguese, Burmese…They have all left their mark on the culture and religious make-up of Phuket and also in its architecture, as can been seen in the old sector of Phuket Town and the Chinese temples and Muslim mosques dotted around the island.

Phuket Golf Breaks

Thanks to the multi-cultural composition of Phuket’s population, there are numerous festivals from a variety of religions and cultures throughout the year. Today, the majority religion is Buddhism, with significant populations of Malay Muslims, Thai Chinese Buddhists and Christians from the early Portuguese presence, but more recently from expatriates who have made Phuket their home.

Combined with this culture and spiritualism comes modern day life with large department stores in Phuket Town, Patong, and Thalang Town. Tailors have shops everywhere so a handmade suit is an attractive purchase. Pearls, batiks and pewter ware are Phuket’s best known products.

Our Phuket Golf Breaks have no fewer than five Championship golf courses, Phuket’s beauty and wonderful climate provides a fabulous backdrop to a game of golf. Take your camera and your A-Game as the courses aren’t just pretty, they’re great tests of golf designed by the biggest names in the game.

These days, Phuket is best known for its amazing beaches…with nearly 20 major beachs to choose from, you’ll never be far from one! Rawai, NaiHarn and Kata are the three principal beaches and they have facilities to match. The islands boast fabulous reefs and marine reserves – try Coral, Hey, Raya or Koh Rang Yai by taking a boat and have a lovely active or inactive day.

For nightlife, Patong Beach is great fun – live music, bars, discos…All overlooking the lovely fishing bay.

Obviously, Phuket is surrounded by the sea! And with that comes the opportunity to water sport – scuba diving, sailing, swimming, windsurfing, deep sea fishing and canoeing and yachting are all on the cards.

Local cuisines is based on noodles fried with vegetables, pork, chicken, strong spices, sausages, oysters and shrimp. Very fresh and very tasty.

Our resorts have been chosen for the proximity to the attractions but also their tranquillity, so you can look forward to getting a maximum of relaxation from your time in the famously easy-going Phuket.
