Bangkok Golf Holidays

Bangkok is the metropolis of Thailand. It leads the way as the centre of development and modernity in industry, commerce, economy, and transport. In addition to its unique culture and exquisite architecture, the city is full of charm, traditions, culture, archeological sites and exciting food choices.  No wonder, Travel & Leisure magazine have voted Bangkok as the best sightseeing capital in Asia and the third best in the world.

Shopping is another activity you can enjoy endlessly in Bangkok. Take your pick from shopping malls, department stores, markets, and street plazas. For example, if you like brand products, go to shopping malls like Emporium or Gaysorn Plaza. For budget shoppers, don't miss markets like Chatuchak Weekend Market, or street plazas like Saphanputh.

For dining, you will find eating places almost anywhere in Bangkok; outside shopping malls, inside markets, along the pavement or anywhere a cart and a few fold-up tables and chairs can be placed. Don't miss out on these places as they offer cheap and tasty food that you won't find in normal tourist restaurants. Go at lunch time, when food is freshest. Stir-frying, grilling and soup made from boiling water offer safe cooking methods. Avoid eating anything raw as this may have been washed in contaminated water and avoid crushed ice which might have come from a dubious source. Follow these basic rules and go for it!

More “established” dining is offered with elegant afternoon teas at the luxury hotels, the Asian restaurants try to outdo each other leading to top-notch Thai and Indian cooking, and more worldwide tastes are also catered for with anything from burger bars to South American steak houses.

Bangkok has historically evolved along the banks of the Chao Phraya River and its adjoining canals. It may no longer be the "Venice of the East" described by early visitors, but the waterways still breathe life into the city. Winding its way through the heart of the city, the river continues to play an important part in daily life. Every day you see commuters, saffron-robed monks and school children speeding by on fast river taxis, overtaking the heavily laden rice barges making their sedate journey upriver.

For visitors, the river provides contrasts of old and new, with many of Bangkok's temples standing alongside warehouses, new residential blocks and prestigious five star hotels. On the Thonburi side of the river there is a network of canals largely unaffected by modern development. And on the Rattanakosin side it is possible to catch river taxis along KlongSaenSaep, a dirty but important transport artery that cuts through the heart of the modern city.

Bangkok's nightlife has a reputation for being wild and rowdy. But at the same time it's relaxed, safe, enjoyable and great fun! Rapidly establishing itself as Asia's capital of cool, Bangkok's diverse nightlife scene features everything from excellent live music and good jazz clubs to ultra cool bars, trendy clubs and great restaurants.  The sleazy image is fading fast.  Bangkok has no less than six vibrant nightlife districts, each packed full with clubs and style: Sukhumvit, Khao San Road, Silom, Ratchada and RCA, Siam Square, Chidlom, and Ploenchit.
