The ideal destination to escape the British winters, New Zealanders offer a warm welcome, some of the most exciting cuisine (and impressive wines) in the world. The main cities of Wellington and Auckland on the North Island provide a high standard of resort hotels and glorious private establishments. Most of the best golf courses are on the North as well and the climate is warm, humid summers and mild winters. South Island is cooler but has some great courses too and you should spare for the rebuilding of Christchurch.
