Nightlife in Essaouira - Essaouira is one of the most attractive towns of Morocco. The city exudes undeniable charm with its shuttered houses, art galleries, wood workshops, fishermen and colourful boats. There's not much Western-style nightlife in Essaouira, as the city is a bit laidback and goes to sleep early. However, the town where Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley used to hang out offers decent opportunities to unwind, eat and drink, and be merry. Most of the bars feature music and the best bars are in Place Prince Moulay Hassan. The Piano Bar in the Sofitel Mogador on Avenue Mohamed V offers a variation on the "Lost in Translation" theme. The terrace bar at Taros (2 Rue de la Sqala) is superb for enjoying drinks amidst some live local music. It also offers a panoramic view of the Place Moulay el Hassan and the harbour. The bar at Ocean Vagabond Beach Hotel is very cosy and built in African colonial style.
