Barbados Golf Holidays

Barbados is the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands, and is a tiny dot on most world maps. With an area of 166 square miles, Barbados has a population of about 280,000 -quite high considering its size. With an awe-inspiring coastline, perfect temperatures, and the friendliest people in the world, Barbados has much to offer on your Barbados Golf Breaks

Commonly referred to as "The Gem of the Caribbean Sea", this traditionally British Island is the perfect destination for your Corporate Incentive Group.

Without question, Barbados is a country of contrasts - sleek and modern in many ways, yet clearly still attached to the customs, traditions and religion of England - accommodating to the pace and energy of a commercial life, yet embracing a rhythm that feels slower and less aggressive-fearful of God in the Anglican tradition, without the oppressiveness.

Barbados has been a self-governing country since 1639, yet not becoming formally independent from Britain until November 30th, 1966. It is a member of the British Commonwealth. British heritage is evident in Barbadian (Bajan) customs, as well as the names of streets and areas throughout the Island.

English is the official language; however Barbadians speak their own language, complete with its own idioms, vernacular and words. Bajan (pronounced Bay - Jan, as in Janette) can best be described as English spoken at 100 MPH! People from Barbados are called either Barbadians or Bajans. Do not earn their immediate disrespect by referring to them as "natives."

Temperatures range from the mid 20?s (C) in the winter to the high 20's (C) in summer. Brief rain showers are not uncommon in the Caribbean throughout the year. But don't despair - Barbados averages more than 4,500 hours of sunshine annually!!

Golf Breaks Barbados

Barbados is an oasis of unspoiled charm and sophistication, a blend of intelligent people, unique culture, fascinating history, art and architecture, and alive with possibilities as boundless as the turquoise sea, and endless as the sandy shore.

In short, Barbados is a country as complex or diverse as any you will find anywhere. In the attempt to know and understand it, the newcomer to Barbados has an ally - its size. It measures a brief 21 miles from top to bottom, and only 14 miles wide. In Barbados, life is not hidden! It is a tropical isle, after all, with an openness born of the physical reality of heat and sunshine.

World famous for its friendly and hospitable people, discover Barbados, and your wildest dreams, while on your Barbados Golf Breaks. Paradise!
