Turkey Golf Holidays
Turkey is famous as the country where East meets West, a melting pot of the traditional and the modern. With a colourful and rich history, having been under Roman, Byzantine, Selcuk and Ottoman rule, Turkey has some of the best preserved ruins of antiquity anywhere in the world.
In addition to all this, however, the country is a “master plan” for modern golf. Great designs all close together on easy walking and manicured fairways with resorts ranging from comfortable to luxurious offering a valuable “all-inclusive” concept. It’s brilliant and deservedly successful. Pretty much all the golf is in the South in and around Belek on the Mediterranean coast. Here there are 14 top-class class golf courses, all a maximum of 20 minutes drive from each other and situated along the Mediterranean coast and with over fifty five-star hotels alongside.
The golf courses are high in quality and increasing in quantity too. the biggest names in golf have left their mark in Turkey. Splendid courses, none too difficult but all very enjoyable. Julius Caesar proclaimed his celebrated words “Veni. Vedi, Veci” (I came, I saw, I conquered) in Turkey when he defeated Pontus, will you be able to do the same after your final round?

Combine this with the stunning natural landscape – the hidden underground cities in Cappadocia, the hot white thermal springs of Pamukkale, the forests of the North and the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean in the South, and Turkey offers something for everyone. The Mediterranean coast boasts a climate of hot summers and mild winters. The summers can range from 25 to 40 C with the swimming-in-the-sea season from April to October.
Turkey is also a very mountainous country, with Mount Agri highest at 5165 metres. This mountain is a snow-capped inactive volcano and is said to be the resting place for Noah’s Ark. The North Anatolian Mountains run along the north of the country parallel to the Black Sea, whilst the Taurus Mountains sweep along the Mediterranean in the south. The country has some of the most beautiful pristine beaches in Europe, often with a backdrop of lush green forests and just a stone's throw from an archaeological treasure. Many secluded beaches can be enjoyed by relaxed boat trips available from the resorts.
Due to its position and the fact that Turkey is at the meeting point of three different climatic zones, it is home to a tremendous variety of landscapes and plants, making it a paradise for travellers and naturalists. For those with a penchant for natural “thrill seeking”, falls worthy of mention include those at Manavgat near Side and Duden close to Antalya and the Koprulu Canyon, whose dramatic waters rush through the gorge on their way to the sea close by.
Flights to Turkey can be keenly-priced and all our holidays include airport Meet & Greet and hotel and golf course transfers by our knowledgeable and friendly resort-based partners.

Antalya
The city of Antalya was founded in 2 BC by the King of Pergamum, Attalus II. A thriving port city, the Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks and Ottomans all ruled Antalya over the ages, leaving behind them an incredible wealth of archeological treasures.
