Malta Golf Holidays

The Mediterranean island of Malta has a climate to be proud of with warm Sahara winds warming the already mild winter days and reliable temperatures of mid 70’s to mid 80’s from spring to autumn.
Just three hours from the UK, driving is on the left and the island is small enough to explore easily.

With just one golf course, Malta is not a serious golfing destination but it’s a lovely and relaxing break away from the grey skies at home, particularly when you consider our preferred hotel and the pretty golf course.

Malta has several historic attractions including the Co-Cathedral, Grand Masters’ Palace and the walled city of Mdina.  Going back further in time there are prehistoric tombs and megalithic temples to admire.

Valletta is a walled city and port and capital of Malta.  As well as fine architecture and shops, it offers decent nightlife.  A good choice of bars and restaurants are also to be found in Silema, St Julian’s and George’s Bay.  Non-golfing days should feature the island of Comino with its myriad of attractions and the sister island of Gozo.

  • Xara Palace

    Xara Palace5 star

Within the 16th-Century walled city, the Xara Palace was built over three hundred years ago for a noble family, was occupied by the British during WWII when Malta was an important strategic “outpost”. And for the last 15 years, the Palace has been welcoming clients as a refined boutique hotel with just 17 bedrooms – some of which have 6m high ceilings. The hotel design is contemporary elegance and has all the mod cons of luxury hotels but with a lot of style and fabulous views too. Between the comfort of the surroundings, and the gastronomic and brasserie restaurants, you’ll have no desire to leave the hotel!
