Focus on Medoc

World-famous for its wine, Medoc also boasts the unique feature of having two courses rated above 17/20 in the authoritative Peugeot Guide and the resort also won the World Travel Awards "Golf Resort of the Year" in 2011.

About 30 minutes from Bordeaux Airport (with decent direct routes from the UK) and 40 minutes from the historical city to the east and the Atlantic beaches to the West, Medoc Golf Resort & Spa ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of people. Four-star service and spacious bedrooms, a spa and wine bar (of course!), a fine restaurant with golf-view terrace and two terrific golf courses make it a great destination and a great base from which to explore.

Medoc has hosted the European Tour on a number of occasions with the Championship layout often a mix of the more difficult Les Chateaux and the very pretty Les Vignes. A heathland with more than a hint of links is how we'd describe Les Chateaux and it's tough and long off the back tees with every bunker seemingly "perfectly" placed. The greens are huge so clubbing is vital. Les Vignes is cut through a pine forest with relatively easy par five's, challenging par four's and some gorgeous par three's.
